BUSINESS AREAS AND SERVICES
Geotechnical Engineering
ERGONS make sure that all work shall adhere to safety standards. Perform subsurface exploration duties using conventional drilling or in-situ testing techniques. Drilling may include auger drilling, mud rotary drilling, air rotary and diamond bit coring techniques. In-situ testing techniques may include cone penetration testing (CPT) and seismic cone penetration testing (SCPT) equipment, pressure meter and other, related apparatus. Work also includes installation of instrumentation, piezometers and monitor wells. Work as part of a multiple person team on projects. Field locate required exploration points and determine elevations of points. Develop site reconnaissance information. Load soil samples, exploration tools and instrumentation/well installation tools and supplies onto trucks or drill rigs. Prepare and review boring logs using Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) and basic standard rock classifications and site description forms.
Water and Sanitation
ERGONS has the combined technical expertise and innovative approach in implementing water related programs covering water supply and sanitation, water resources management, hydrogeological studies, flood control and drainage studies, design and improvement, integrated river basin development /management that includes coastal resource management, wastewater engineering and solid waste management. ERGONS also has a qualified team to empower communities and local institutions to develop sustainable water resources through capacity building and participatory approach for effective operation and maintenance of facilities as well as initiate/advocate mobilization of community to enhance ownership and sustainability of infrastructure projects.
Environment
This may include a range of environmental compliance prescribed by the government such as ECC, Compliance Monitoring Report (CMR), Self-Monitoring Report (SMR), Permit to Operate, Discharge Permit, Hazardous Waste Management ID, PCB Management Plan, Site Remedial Plan (RemAP), Site Control Action Plan (SCAP) and other environmental requirements. This is also an assessment of the possible impact whether it is in positive or negative, that a proposed project may have on the natural environment. The purpose of the assessment is to ensure that decision makers consider the ensuing environmental impacts to decide whether to proceed with the project. The services offered also include environmental evaluation and environmental impact assessments, waste audit of contractors, and wastewater and storm audit of manufacturing plants. Our specialized expertise cuts across various sectors including water and wastewater, solid waste, energy, industrial plants and refineries as well as energy and other infrastructure projects. We also prepare an Initial Environmental Examination (IEE).
Climate Change
In meeting the global campaign and in response to the #7 Millennium Development Goals (MDG) of ensuring environmental sustainability, ERGONS have powerhouse team of experts that promotes and advocates community based projects that will reduce inevitable impact of climate change to the lives of people, the environment and their sources of livelihood. As communities will require appropriate and adequate assistance, ERGONS assists in strengthening adaptive capacity in areas of local governance i.e transparent and accountable policy which can have direct bearing on responding to impact of climate change factors among the poor; natural resource management i.e empowering communities and Local Government Units (LGUs) in building resilient communities and sustaining their community environment; resource mobilization i.e supporting our client needs to access technical and funding assistance and disaster risk management. ERGONS conduct studies in building resilient livelihoods through strengthening and diversifying income generating activities; hazard mitigation; preparedness and early warning systems and training; assessing vulnerability, knowledge and education to build local capacity; and policy and governance for community based DRR.
Renewable Energy
ERGONS recognizes the Archipelago’s abundant sources of renewable energy particularly in the far flung islands that could be harnessed to support communities on a sustainable basis. To help realize this vision, ERGONS assists donor agencies, public sector and institutions in implementing their programs and projects in identifying, developing and installing appropriate, reliable, affordable and sustainable energy source; Services covered include sector studies, energy audits, renewable energy development (biomass, solar technology, wind, and hydropower); biogas studies and development; ERGONS also brings competency in preparing the affected or beneficiary communities through public participation and awareness campaign conducted by our highly qualified and trained professionals who have extensive experience working in the grassroot level, local government agencies and private sector groups. ERGONS also empowers communities to manage, maintain and operate installed RE technologies for them to be able to maximize benefits and protect /sustain environment and identify suitable financing schemes and funding sources.
Agriculture / Rural Development
In support of ERGONS mission and vision, it also upholds that above sectors of development could only be sustainable with the proactive support and full participation of the community. Hence, ERGONS believes that the first and foremost step is enabling Local Government Units and all community members to meaningfully understand their community issues and economic, social, environmental, political, psychological, and other impacts associated with alternative courses of action. Finally, the community work actively to enhance the leadership capacity of community members, leaders, and groups and influence the decisions that affect their lives. From a visioning effort, communities or organizations can be positioned to move forward and achieve the goals and objectives they have identified. By having a clearer understanding of what they are and what they hope to be, they will have a better road map on how to arrive at that point. Natural resource appraisal and valuation, vulnerability and adaptation assessment to the agriculture sector, payment for environmental services and other co sharing management are among important services that are provided by the company.

ERGONS provides services for the development of information systems for business needs. These management information systems have the capability to provide managers with the tools to organize, evaluate and manage efficiently the departments within an organization. Office Information Systems are also oriented towards business process evaluation and management. ERGONS also brings a depth of technical expertise to help government agencies, local government units and public/private organizations strengthen, modernize, and restructure existing information systems so as to generate relevant and quality information for evidence-based decision making in planning and managing their services.
